Beta Iota “The S.T.A.R.” Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. will host its 56th Annual Omega Mardi Gras “BLAΩOWT” on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Kolping Center, 10235 Mill Road , Cincinnati , OH 45231 [8:30pm to 2:00am].
At Beta Iota, we have a clear purpose and our purpose is “Service.” Given this purpose, we have set a stretching goal for ourselves as it relates to the service we do in our area. That goal simply stated is to make a meaningful and measurable difference in our community. This purpose and goal defines who we are as a chapter and what we stand for. Our activities toward reaching our goal and the way we approach our purpose MAKES US WHAT WE ARE – The S.T.A.R. Chapter.
The S.T.A.R. Chapter
Aligned with our purpose and goals, we have elected several key elements which describe the Beta Iota Chapter and our local membership. These characteristics represent the highest aspirations of men, embody the characteristics which any true and tried SON OF OMEGA would be proud, and make us who we are:
S. Service Oriented Men who MAKE a Difference
T. Talent beyond belief
A. Accountable to OUR LORD, FAMILIES, Community, Chapter, District and Fraternity
R. Ready to fulfill the duties and obligations of Omega with our time, talent, and treasure
Our annual Mardi Gras provides scholarships to Greater Cincinnati High School graduates and is intended to encourage and promote academic excellence. Through the generous support of individuals, organizations and companies like yours, we've provided an opportunity for 38 local young men to attend college/university by virtue of our scholarship program over the past eight years alone. This year our goal is to award a four year scholarship valued at $20,000 and your support for our Mardi Gras program helps us deliver against this goal.
We invite you to join us as a patron and help make our 56th Annual Beta Iota Mardi Gras a huge success! Please contact any member of the “S.T.A.R CHAPTER” for ticket information or go to http://www.cincinnatiques.org/.
